BMS 12S 5A Daly Parallel module

Parallel module is a device that allows safe parallel connection of lithium batteries.

The principle of the module’s operation boils down to disconnecting the BMS when the difference in battery voltages causes a current flow of a value greater than that limited by the module. During this time, current flows between batteries only through the module and is limited to a safe value of 5 or 15A. Once the voltages are equalized, the module reconnects the BMS.

When using standard BMS, parallel connection of lithium batteries is not acceptable due to very likely damage to the BMS electronics (which may result in damage to the cells). This is the result of uncontrolled current flow between batteries due to the difference in voltage and internal resistance.

This situation occurs when several batteries with different levels of charge are connected, or when a cell is damaged during operation, in any of them.

The module is designed to work only with a specially prepared SMART BMS from DALY equipped with a “Parallel” input.

The same module can be used for Li-Ion and LiFePO4 batteries, provided the number of cells is compatible.

It is required that each battery connected in parallel be equipped with its BMS Smart and Parallel Module.

Due to the need for proper selection (different software versions) of the BMS- Parallel Module, please agree on the BMS version you have or plan to have.

BMS imported by our company, have preloaded software to support 5A parallel modules, for BMS with currents up to 100A and up to 15A modules for BMS from 150A. We do not have information or the ability to check what software is uploaded to BMS coming from other Daly distributors.
